    DymaLux blanks

I got an email from Cousineau Wood Products ( http://www.cousineauwoodproducts.com/dymalux-1/ ) offering 16 pen blanks for $25 made from DymaLux. It's a laminated wood like their Spectraply panels. I'd had great luck with Spectraply and decided to give them a try. The offer was for 8 blanks of a Charcoal color and 8 of a Rosewood color. The offer said they needed no finish after they were sanded. Well I had to test that.

Today I made 2 Cigar stylus pens. Attached is the picture of these pens. They were turned with a SRG and sanded through 12,000 with Micro Mesh. I'm impressed. The plys are so thin they look like a very fine grained hardwood. I have no affiliation with Cousineau beyond being a customer. I hope they come out with other products in this line, though.

Innovation is the process that renews something that already exists and not, as is commonly assumed, the introduction of something new.
